The Lacrosse Development Engine

You ran a good practice.
Saturdays game showed none of it.

One system to develop every kid, every coach, every season.

POWLAX closes that gap: moving play and drill diagrams your players actually understand, playbooks they can study before they arrive, and guided at-home training for every kid on your roster.

And you don’t have to take a sales page’s word for it. Create a free account, and ten minutes from now you’ll be watching your own play move — drawn by you, animated in the Play Designer, sitting inside a real practice plan. No card. No demo call.

Or create a free coach account and try it first

WHY PRACTICE DISAPPEARS BY GAME DAY

Planning harder doesn’t fix it. We checked.

In our May 2026 survey of 358 coaches, only 6.3% said what they teach at practice transfers to games reliably. Coaches with fully sequenced practice plans? 8.7%. If better planning fixed transfer, the best planners would be way ahead. They aren’t.

“What you teach at practice transfers to games reliably” — May 2026 POWLAX coach survey, n=358

Here’s why. Planning lives in your head and your voice — and you’re asking players to carry it for you. Kids who’ve been in school all day can’t hold a spoken play in their heads until Saturday. They have no way to see it move, no way to watch it, no way to look it up. Planning never put the play in their hands. It can’t.

Your players aren’t lazy. They’re being asked to remember a play they heard once — after a full day of school.

POWLAX puts the playbook in their hands — moving diagrams, video, and images, itemized — so they arrive at practice already seeing what you want them to do.

PROGRAM PRICING

It's $29 per player for the year. Coaches and however many teams you run are included, and any family that wants the full at-home academy pays for that themselves.

Unique kids across the whole program for the year. A kid counts once no matter how many teams they play on. Programs start at 10 players.

Private lessons, group training, and development days are great. They are another aspect of a very well-run club. But they’re not possible for all players. This is.

THE WHOLE PROGRAM

Team HQ Program turns those ten minutes into your whole season.

Everything you just did, unlimited and shared with your whole staff. Coaches and however many teams you run are included.

  • Your staff gets the full toolkit: unlimited drills, plays, and strategies in the Play Designer, the content-integrated Practice Planner, and a shared Team Playbook.

  • Coaches keep learning: the Youth Lacrosse Coaching Master Class is included for your staff.

  • Every rostered player gets Skills Academy Fundamentals — guided workouts, points, ranks, badges, leaderboards. No kid on your roster is left guessing what to work on at home.

  • Players and parents get the player-facing Team Playbook — your plays, your terminology, your videos, viewable at home — plus practice pre-study: they see the upcoming practice plan and drill videos before they arrive. The explanation happens on the couch, and the reps happen on the field.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

The honest objections, answered.

“I don’t have time to learn another app.”

Then don’t buy it. Test it on a free account first. If you can’t build something useful in one evening, close the tab — you’ve lost fifteen minutes and zero dollars, and we’ve lost the sale we deserve to lose.

“My parents don’t want more screen time.”

Skills Academy isn’t watching — it’s doing. The screen tells them what to do; the driveway is where it happens.

“Will my volunteer assistants actually use it?”

They don’t have to build anything. You share the plan; they open it on their phone with the drill videos and moving diagrams attached — so they know exactly what to do.

“What if I buy and it doesn’t fit?”

You’re not buying on faith — you already used it. The free account is the actual product: the same Play Designer, the same Practice Planner, the same Run Practice view, with real caps (5 custom drills or strategies, 1 practice plan, 1 playbook). The only question left is scale: keep building solo, or put your whole staff and roster on it. If the first ten minutes didn’t earn it, don’t buy it.

THE PLAYER SIDE, ALSO FREE

Then hand your phone to a player: the Weekly Workout is free too.

65%of coaches named players doing real work between practices as the #1 thing that would help their teamMay 2026 survey · 358 coaches
91.3%of players said they’re willing to do three 15-minute workouts a weekSame survey · 209 players

Both sides want it. Neither has the bridge.

The Skills Academy is the bridge: guided workouts with points, ranks, badges, and leaderboards. Anyone with a free account can run the free Weekly Workout — a rotating Skills Academy workout, no purchase required.

Most players don’t skip the work because they’re unwilling — they think a real workout means 45 minutes, so they never start. A guided 15-minute workout takes that excuse away: it’s short, it’s doable, and most kids will say yes to it.

Have one of your players run it this week and watch what happens. If they finish it and ask what’s next, that’s your answer about whether this works for your roster.

Minutes 1–3: Draw a play that moves.

Open the Play Designer and sketch your first play or drill. Press play — your diagram animates, so every player can see exactly who goes where and when. Turn on Read & React Mode to add decision points: if the slide comes, do this; if it doesn’t, do that.

You don’t start from a blank page. 135+ POWLAX drills ship with moving diagrams already built, and real drill videos link directly to the diagrams — players see the animation and actual footage of the drill being run. A free account includes 5 custom drills or strategies of your own. That’s enough to build the thing you’ve been trying to explain all season.

Minutes 4–7: Put your drill into a real practice plan.

Open the Practice Planner. The drill you just drew is right there, next to the POWLAX library with embedded drill videos. Build one practice plan with it — your free account includes one — and add your coaching notes.

This is the part most coaching tools never let you feel before paying: your own creation, sitting inside the real planner, in a plan you could actually run on Tuesday. And because the drill library comes pre-built, a practice plan is closer to assembly than authorship.

Minutes 8–10: Open Run Practice and see it field-side.

Tap into the Run Practice view — the screen you’d have in your hand at the field. Your plan, your drill, the moving diagram, the video, in the order you’ll run them. This is the thing you’ll pull out of your pocket when practice starts in four minutes and your assistant asks what’s first.

That’s the whole first session. You built something real and watched it work.
